Rotating Teaser
What is the best depth to run the Rotating Teaser?
The Rotating Teaser is most effective after 20 feet down.
What is the best speed to run the Rotating Teaser?
We usually run 2.3 to 2.5 but run a little faster with the teaser.
What is the best bait to run with the Teaser?
Teasers have been run traditionally with cut bait but they have a long standing proven track record of producing fish on trolling spoons and flies. Some Fisherman prefer a small spoon like a Fishlander or a Stinger while others use a full size spoon. We prefer spoons or flies.
What are the best conditions to run the Rotating Teasers?
We like to run the Rotating Teaser off the center rigger deep or off the DipsyŽ. The fish have a much more aggressive bite with the Rotating Teaser and want to inhale the spoon. This will work when the fish are down deep and you may not be reading them but also at times of the day when the fish are normally less productive.
I had my best fishing trip ever while using the Rotating Teaser, but I didn't catch any fish on the Rotating Teaser itself. I caught fish on everything else, why didn't I catch any on the Rotating Teaser?
There are a lot of things we don't know about how you were running the Rotating Teaser. We dont always catch fish on the teaser either. The Rotating Teaser is an attractor not a lure. We have noticed that we catch more fish when we have the Rotating Teaser in the water because it attracts fish to the area. For instance we might have to adjust the leader length and switch lures to get it working. We have had days when there is not enough thermocline and days when the fish were not deep enough and the Rotating Teasers gave off too much flash.
